A native Californian, Elizabeth graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Princeton University, where she specialized in 19th-century French and Italian literature and history, before joining Facebook when the company still had fewer than 100 million users. Since then she has built Facebook’s Politics and Government Programme for Europe, the Middle East and Africa from the ground up and is Facebook’s brand ambassador for the Europe, Middle East & Africa region.
Her role involves advising political representatives, government agencies, public administrations and think tanks on the intersection of Facebook and 21st-century governance to better understand what she calls the “Conversational Century”. She works with heads-of-state, ambassadors, academics and Royals and other notable figures.
Elizabeth can be seen delivering speeches in parliaments from Brussels to Berlin and conducts workshops from Cairo to Copenhagen, as well as NATO, the European Parliament, the U.S. Institute for Peace, among others. Elizabeth represents Facebook on leading international networks, including CNN, BBC, CNBC, Sky, and the Huffington Post.
Based in London, Elizabeth works in more than 40 countries across her region training and advising politicians, government officials, civil society leaders, diplomats and Royal families on how to effectively to communicate with citizens and the intersection of politics and society in a digitally-connected era. She helps in persuading political and government leaders to value conversation as a core attribute of their leadership capabilities.
Speaking with Parliaments across her region, then liaising with Royal Households to assist in developing their message on Facebook, Elizabeth delivers thought provoking and compelling talks about the new age of mass communication, and the responsibilities that entails.
In addition, Elizabeth holds a Distinction on the Wine and Spirits Education Trust Exam levels II and III from Berry Brothers and Rudd, London’s oldest wine merchant- so is always a welcomed guest at dinner tables around the world.
